The Numbers Game
I had my first set of blood work, one week post treatment. It came out just as they thought it would. My WBC (White blood count) is low, just below normal. They were happy with that. It was low but not too low, if I needed to have had treatment yesterday I was in good enough shape to have it and I am still two weeks away from my next treatment! I am doing good!
Throughout the week I felt pretty good, not normal but pretty good. I was tired but I really didn't slow down too much. I still worked and I still exercised. With this excessive heat that has set into my area I have to be very careful of my outdoor activities but who doesn't! The healthiest person has to be aware of their bodies in such extreme weather. Everyone be careful!
They tell me now I am on the rebound and my WBC will be back on the rise, with the assistance of Nulasta (sp?), a shot that helps boost WBC growth. So far so good!
Stand back and watch me shine!

Shine you will Meg! BTW, we both have great taste in music...in answer to your question on my blog!
I am so happy, and so proud of you!
Sounds great!
Meg, Cancer Schmancer :-P
Let's rock and roll!!!!
Hi Meg, upon hearing the news, my heart and well wishes go out to you dear. Be strong. You can beat it.
Gary
Great news about the blood work, Meg. I hope things continue to go as well all the way through your treatments!
Hi Meg,
we're just back from Buca di Beppo for italian with my Dad. There was this loud drunk 4 booths down from us yelling accross the table at his wife or girlfriend, what a horrible person he was. Anyhow, they cut off his booze and told him to be quiet, his pizza arrived and that occupied he mouth for the rest of our dinner. Thank God.
I hope your treatments continue to go well. A friend of mine had lukemia as a teenager, and remains cancer free, and he is one of my heroes, stays positive in the face of the most unbelievable life situations. You have the right attitude, I can tell.
Stay strong.
Excellent news Meg. You sound strong and optimistic, just the ticket to deal with all this. I really feel for you in this heat - for everyone who's putting up with it, in fact. Here I have the log fire going and the central heating full on, and I'm wearing two jumpers, stockings and long boots. (Oh, that sounds pervy - but I'm wearing a skirt too, honestly). Even the cat has come inside to warm up. Fact is, we're having a cold snap while you roast. Funny old world.
Stay healthy and happy.

Hi Meg, good to hear from you and thanks for your comment. I don't know if this will be of help but I was just reading this alternative treatment for allergies and some cancer treatments. I'll link up the page with testimonials for all kinds of NAET treatments, the one about a breast cancer patient is hopeful...
NAET testimonials
I heard about this from a frined who suffered from severe Poison Ivy response, he was cured by this non-evasive treatment.
Sorry... follow the link under 'About NAET' to testimonials.
On the rebound!Great news Meg!The greatest rebounder in NBA history was Bill Russell and he just jumped
out of his seat at the thought
of it! So you be careful of big
bad Bill and his size 5,000
hands!!Barry Quinn ain't got
nuthin' on him! LOL!
Let's rock n' roll indeed!!:)
ps...thank you for you sweet
and kind comments on my blog.
Hi Meg-
I just left a comment on your other blog.
I'm so happy to hear about your bloodwork.
Another author that is a MUST to read is Bernie Seigel...oh and Norman Cousins - he was (is?) a big proponent of "Laughter Therapy."
Rent lots of comedies and it will have a healing effect on you...I believe in that, just in general.
It feels good to laugh.
Be well (you sound GREAT!).
Stay positive!

Oh the Norman Cousins book is called "Anatomy of an Illness."
This is from Wikipedia:
Told that he had little chance of surviving, Cousins developed a recovery program incorporating megadoses of Vitamin C, along with a positive attitude, love, faith, hope, and laughter induced by Marx Brothers films. "I made the joyous discovery that ten minutes of genuine belly laughter had an anesthetic effect and would give me at least two hours of pain-free sleep," he reported. "When the pain-killing effect of the laughter wore off, we would switch on the motion picture projector again and not infrequently, it would lead to another pain-free interval."
