Limitations
Guess what????? I am not Wonder Woman, I have the thigh high boots, I have the cape, I even have an invisible airplane parked in my garage! Not that any of that matters, I am not Wonder Woman! Someone please tell me what to do with this metallic bra now!!! I finally felt the limitations chemotherapy has put on me and now I have to be aware of the things I do. Let me explain. It is no secret that most of the United States was in the grip of a heat wave this past week, well I just treated it like any other heat wave in the past and worked through it like everyone else! Real smooth Meg, I paid the price trust me. By the time I got home from work on Friday, I was dehydrated, had a low grade fever and basically felt like shit! I had plans to try and get some stuff done around my house with the help from a friend and she ended up doing all the work, she is an angel! I hate the fact that this medicine that will cure me has to kick my butt to do so!
I kept myself very hydrated today and pressed through work anyway and I feel better!
Lesson learned!
Stand back and watch me shine!

The weather guy predicted the heat would break a bit this week end, so hope it's cooler at your house! Glad to hear you're staying so active--I think your body heals better when it's under a bit of physical stress--llike that old saying "use it or lose it!"
That's three down, three to go, right? Hope the other three go as well as the first three. Take care, though! No more working through the heat. :)
Oh I came over to see you shine Meg! I've been away for nearly two weeks. Incredibly, to Spain where I seemed to have missed the heatwave. I'm embarrassed, to say the least!
I'm thankful for your friend and especially for your strength. Screw wonder woman, I say, when there's Meg in the world.

Meg, the temptation for you to work even harder to prove your strength and feel in control is understandable, but don't fall into the trap. It is OK to pace yourself to allow the chemo to do its work and your body to cope with it. This little wake-up call is not such a bad thing.
Having said that, you're as close to Wonderwoman as I'll ever see - tights and cape or not. (Hey - I'll bet that big hair she had was a wig anyway!)
Take care and shine on!
I totally agree that it's ok to pace yourself and let the chemo do it's work. It's ok to give in a little cuz it's not like you are giving in and being weak, what you are doing is just redirecting your strength and battling something inside you that is a relentless beast! The ultimate goal here is not to keep your life as much as the same as possible while you go through treatment. The goal is to concentrate on keeping yourself healthy and ridding yourself of cancer. Some things are going to have to just wait until your battle is over before they get your attn. again. Right now your body needs all your strength. Your chores and your work do not. The chemo is a pain, may as well make it worth it. And the chemo unfortuantley will try to kick your butt while it's kicking the cancer's butt. no use you kicking your own but as well.
You already said lesson learned, so I'm not nagging you! Just I think you are so cute cuz you say lesson learned that you stayed hydrated, but you still worked your tail off. You are so cute! I am truly amazed at how fantastic you are doing while going through treatment. You are so much more than Wonder Woman. Her enemies were not near the caliber yours are. The weapons she had to fight them were tangible, she could see them, (well except for the invisible plane! LOL). Your weapons are more precious and hard to come by. They are hard to get your hands around because they are within you, from God, and you can't see them with your eyes. But girl, you are suddenly making us all see things that used to be invisible. You are making everyone around you to be able to see with their hearts and not just their eyes!!! That beats Wonder Woman a thousand times over!
Stand back and watch me shine? Oh we are Meg. We are!
Megawoman!!
I'm so relieved that you are
feeling better now,feeling
hydrated.So you over did it,
that's the loving momma
in you. That was sweet of your
friend to help you out,that's
when you know who your true friends
are.But please stay out of that
swealtering heat and let your kids
help out.Ask Adam to bring the swing set inside for cryin' out
proud!
Thanks for posting your thoughts
on the tour, all of what you said
rings so true to me as well.
As for meeting the Ox and any
other member,well,you have.
Many times over.Think about it ;)
Master,
I'm jealous of your friend. I wish I could have come over to clean your house today and otherwise serve you!
Seriously though, you do have to make some concessions to your treatment. It's not weakness, just an acknowledgement that you need to pace yourself to have the greatest success for the duration of your schedule.
Faithfully,
Grasshopper
Hi Meg,
I came by to catch up on all you've written while I was away- I think you are right to recognise your limitations and just go with them. Women have a tendency to go overboard with work and caring for others regardless of their own circumstances, and it's important to step back and let go when we're not up to it. It's good that you have figured this out, as it will serve you well along this journey.
Your friend is an angel for helping out. Keep on taking care, my dear.
Anne-Marie
